RESUMEN

Background and purpose: Measuring nurses' perceptions of the activities contributing to the quality of care needs to be emphasized, providing visibility to professional practice and their contributions to achieving health quality. This study aimed to translate, validate, and culturally adapt the "Perception of Nursing Activities that Contribute to the Quality of Care" (EPAECQC), scale to provide a reliable instrument to assist nurse managers in measuring nurses' perceptions of their activities in French reality. Methods: A quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional study, in two phases, was conducted. First, by translation and cultural adaptation, and second, through the validation of the scale. Results: The factor structure of the final version was reduced to 22 items. Content and construct validity and reliability were supported by internal consistency (Cronbachs' alpha = .913). Conclusions: The results show that the final version is a reliable and valid instrument, showing a high potential to be used in research and clinical practice.

(1) Background: Initiatives aimed at assessing and intervening in health literacy have the potential to promote adherence to self-care behaviours, which is the main focus of intervention by rehabilitation nurses. Thus, the objectives were to analyse the level of health literacy of working-age citizens and identify priority areas for intervention by rehabilitation nurses. (2) Methods: Quantitative, correlational and cross-sectional study, conducted in a multinational company, with the participation of 161 workers. The data were collected between 14 April and 7 May 2021, using a self-completion questionnaire composed of sociodemographic and clinical characterization and the European Health Literacy Survey, following a favourable opinion from the Ethics Committee and the company's management. (3) Results: Overall, low to moderate literacy scores were predominant. Age and education were significantly associated with literacy scores. Workers with higher levels of health literacy had no diagnosed illnesses, took less medication, reported less sadness, fewer memory changes and less muscle and joint pain. (4) Conclusions: The fact that higher levels of health literacy trigger self-care behaviours and, consequently, fewer health problems reinforces the need for rehabilitation nurses to invest in this area.

Objetivo: descrever o processo de construção e validação de uma escala para a mensuração da percepção do trabalho realizado por enfermeiros gestores. Método: trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, descritivo, metodológico, com revisão da literatura e experiência de gestores expressa em um estudo prévio, desenvolvido por meio de um instrumento contendo oito dimensões e 42 itens, aplicado a 372 enfermeiros que desenvolvem a sua atividade na área da gestão em hospitais públicos e privados, com amostragem não probabilística. Empregaram-se, para a validação do instrumento, a análise fatorial exploratória e a avaliação da consistência interna de cada fator/dimensão. Resultados: nota-se que a análise fatorial indicou reajustes na composição original da escala de cinco para oito dimensões, mantendo-se os 42 itens e apresentando uma elevada consistência interna global (alfa de Cronbach de 0,950). Conclusão: avalia-se que a escala tem propriedades psicométricas adequadas, revelando o potencial para a utilização em futuros estudos na área da gestão em Enfermagem.(AU)


Objective: to describe the process of building and validating a scale for measuring the perception of the work done by nurse managers. Method: it is a quantitative, descriptive, methodological study, with literature review and manager's experience expressed in a previous study, developed through an instrument containing eight dimensions and 42 items, applied to 372 nurses who develop their activity in the area of management in public and private hospitals, with non-probabilistic sampling. For the instrument validation, exploratory factor analysis and internal consistency assessment of each factor/dimension were employed. Results: it is noted that the factorial analysis indicated readjustments in the original composition of the scale from five to eight dimensions, maintaining the 42 items and presenting a high global internal consistency (Cronbach alpha of 0.950). Conclusion: it is evaluated that the scale has adequate psychometric properties, revealing the potential for use in future studies in the area of management in Nursing.(AU)


Objetivo: describir el proceso de construcción y validación de una escala para medir la percepción del trabajo realizado por enfermeros gestores. Método: se trata de un estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo, metodológico, con revisión de la literatura y la experiencia de gerentes expresada en un estudio previo, desarrollado mediante un instrumento de ocho dimensiones y 42 ítems, aplicado a 372 enfermeros que desarrollan su actividad en el área de gestión en hospitales públicos y privados, con muestreo no probabilístico. Para la validación del instrumento se utilizó el análisis factorial exploratorio y la evaluación de la consistencia interna de cada factor / dimensión. Resultados: se observa que el análisis factorial indicó reajustes en la composición original de la escala de cinco a ocho dimensiones, manteniendo los 42 ítems y presentando una alta consistencia interna global (alfa de Cronbach de 0.950). Conclusión: se evalúa que la escala tiene adecuadas propiedades psicométricas, revelando el potencial de uso en futuros estudios en el área de la gestión de Enfermería.(AU)

An instrument was designed containing six dimensions and 25 items, applied as a questionnaire to 775 nurses from a hospital in northern Portugal, from May to July 2014. The instrument validation used an exploratory factor analysis and an internal consistency assessment of each factor/dimension. RESULTS:: the factor analysis indicated the need to adjust the original composition of the scale, which then received one more dimension, totaling seven dimensions and the same 25 items, and presented a high internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha of 0.940). CONCLUSION:: the final version of the scale presents adequate psychometric properties, with potential use in future studies.

Conclusão: a versão final da escala apresenta adequadas propriedades psicométricas, revelando potencial para utilização em futuros estudos.

RESUMEN

RESUMO Objetivo Avaliar curso online na perspectiva do egresso e verificar a relação entre variáveis. Método Estudo quantitativo, descritivo e exploratório, aplicado aos participantes no final de três versões de um curso de atualização onlinena temática de Gerenciamento em Enfermagem. Resultados Os índices de satisfação nas três categorias elencadas, em três anos, apresentaram resultados acima de 75,0%. Os coeficientes obtidos indicaram alta consistência do questionário. Considerando o índice total, a categoria Desempenho do tutor foi a de índice mais alto. Fortes associações entre Autoavaliação e Desempenho do tutor, Autoavaliação e Programa do curso e Desempenho do tutor e Programa do curso foram identificadas. Não houve associação entre as três categorias referidas com as demais variáveis do estudo. Conclusão Os egressos demonstraram satisfação com o curso, que favoreceu a interação e a promoção do conhecimento coletivo no gerenciamento em enfermagem. Foram reconhecidos, também, aspectos que carecem de melhorias, com destaque à capacitação do tutor para mediar discussões e estimular o envolvimento do estudante ao longo do curso.


RESUMEN Objetivo Evaluar curso online desde la perspectiva de los egresos y verificar la relación entre las variables. Método Estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo y exploratorio aplicado a los participantes en el final de tres versiones de un curso de actualizaciónonline en la temática de Gestión en Enfermería. Resultados Los índices de satisfacción en las tres categorías enumeradas, en tres años, presentaron resultados arriba de los 75,0%. Los coeficientes indican una alta consistencia del cuestionario. Teniendo en cuenta el índice total, la categoría Desempeño del Tutor ha presentado el índice más alto. Se identificaron fuertes asociaciones entre Autoevaluación y Desempeño del Tutor, Auto Evaluación y Programa del Curso, y Desempeño del Tutor y Programa del Curso. No se identificaron asociaciones entre las tres categorías mencionadas con las otras variables del estudio. Conclusión Los egresos expresaron su satisfacción por el curso que favorecía la interacción y la promoción del conocimiento colectivo en la gestión de enfermería. También fueron reconocidos los aspectos que deben ser mejorados, sobre todo la capacitación del tutor para mediar discusiones y estimular la participación de los estudiantes a lo largo del curso.
